Plants of Winter Interest

We have a lot of fun planning gardens with year round interest - especially for the winter because it is an overlooked season in many gardens. A few carefully selected additions to your garden can make all the difference this time of year. Here is a list of a few of our favorite plants with winter interest.

The fruit of the Staghorn Sumac (Rhus hirta) are a stunning red
and persist through the winter. Native to our area.

Witchhazel (Hamamelis) is a small tree which blooms during the
winter.

once its brances lose their leaves and turn red - especially against

brings some much needed color during the winter months.

This Variegated Yucca (Yucca Filamentosa) is bright and colorful
during the whole year.
